BLAKE EGGLESTON

blakebioFrom his early experiences in the Los Angeles rave scene, Blake wanted to become more deeply involved with electronic music and began to DJ in 2000. With the limited amount of money he had, he spent $300 on some bottom of the line turntables and a mixer. Purchasing whatever vinyl he could afford, he slowly taught himself to spin. In 2002, Blake also began to explore the basics of music production, starting out with some free software and quickly becoming absorbed into creating original music. Taking some music theory classes in college moved him to the next level and Blake began working with high end studio equipment and software to create his own tracks.

While he enjoys listening to all kinds of music, what Blake plays in his sets falls into the gray areas between progressive, house, breaks, trance, electro and techno. He creates his own distinctive style through his mixing skills and ability to blend between genres – believing that great music will always come first, no matter what genre it falls into.

Blake has graced the stages of some of the most respected clubs in Southern California, including Avalon, Spundae, Vanguard, and Monday Night Social, on nights featuring talent such as Steve Lawler, Roger Sanchez, Christopher Lawrence, and Hybrid.

Currently, Blake is working on releasing a digital EP with fellow 4:SCORE artist Brian Scott (Release scheduled for Summer 2009), and is collaborating with several local artists and DJs to pen both remixes and original tunes. Using his experience in the studio and behind the decks, Blake is also designing and looking to build a prototype for the next generation of DJ mixer. This “super mixer” will take the art of DJing closer to a live performance without losing the unique spirit of a DJ set. With his knowledge and talent, Blake is certainly worth looking out for as an up and coming techno artist.
